Impact of Boko Haram insurgency on students’ enrolment and students’ dropout rate for universal basic education administration in Borno State Nigeria. The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of Boko Haram insurgency on students’ enrolment and students’ dropout rate for universal basic education administration in Borno State, Nigeria. To this end, two objectives, two research questions and two hypotheses were answered. For conceptual framework, a model was adopted to illustrates the relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The theoretical framework on which the research stands is the Lackney (1999) model of relationship between school environment and educational outcome. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and the population for the study comprised 950 teachers of JSS11UBE teachers of Borno State with sample size of 274 teachers. Descriptive statistics of Mean was used to answer the research questions and the hypotheses were tested using Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient statistics at 0.05 level of significance. The result showed that all the items have a mean score above 2.50, except Item 8 with a mean score of 2.4 indicating a decline in parental enrolment of children in school after the insurgency. Based on the findings and conclusion, it was recommended that the government should intensify the security architecture within rural areas to reduce the overcrowding of schools in Urban areas, especially the state capital. This will increase student’ enrolment and reduce dropout rates in rural areas.
