Counselling beyond walls is a systematic way of proffering counselling services through the use of phone calls and other forms of information technology. The advent of Covid-19 in Nigeria made it imperative for counsellors to embrace a method of flexibility and accessibility for clients to employ their services. Unfortunately, only a few Nigerian counsellors utilise this practice which has led to a setback in professional practice in the face of the Covid-19 lockdown in Nigeria. Thus, counselling beyond walls will promote socio-psychological wellbeing among Nigerians if professional practice in counselling can be reviewed in terms of skill improvement and mode of service delivery which is essential in ensuring that quality in psychotherapy does not dwindle.
