Therefore, the study investigated the relationship between information sharing as a motivational factor and job performance of library personnel in federal universities in South-West, Nigeria. Descriptive survey of the correlational type was adopted using the simple random sampling technique to select a sample population of 300 out of the 602 library personnel in the six federal universities, South-West, Nigeria. The instrument used for data collection was structured questionnaire with reliability coefficient α = 0.78. Three hundred (300) questionnaires were administered, out of which 265 (88.3%) were retrieved with useful responses. Data collected were analysed using frequency count, percentages, mean and standard deviations, and Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient to answer the research questions. Findings revealed that there was a high level of job performance, such as ability to work with co- workers (Mean=4.2604) has the highest rank in mean score rating. Followed by punctuality and regularity to work,(Mean=4.2377). Most of the respondents were willing to share knowledge and experience which (Mean=3.9434). The study established a positive relationship between information sharing as a motivational factor and job performance of the library personnel (r = .393**; df = 264; p < 0.05).The Federal Government should therefore, increase the level of work motivation of library personnel in federal universities in Nigeria through adequate provision of up-to-date information resources that can facilitate effective information sharing in the organisation.
