Profile of Pregnant Women Personological factors on Mission Home Attendance for Delivery in Ijebu Division of Ogun State Nigeria

Abstract

The internal traits of pregnant women have an implication on their health-seeking behaviour during pregnancy. This study profiled pregnant women personological factors on mission home attendance for delivery in Ijebu Division of Ogun State, Nigeria. It was descriptive survey research. The population used was all pregnant women in the study location, while 600 pregnant women were purposively selected and used for the study. A self - structured instrument titled “Mission Home Attendance Personological factors Profile Inventory, MisHAPI” with a reliability index of 0.79 was used. Three (3) research questions were used to guide the study. The data were analyzed with mean and standard deviation at 0.05 levels of significance. The results shows the mean score of psychological predictors mean score 30.80 (0.010) to 33.00 (0.108) and pregnant women personological factors19.50 (0.73) to 33.31 (0.74). The finding is that the psychological predictors and personological factors are significant in pregnant women's mission home attendance decision. It was concluded that pregnant women's religion influenced their attitudes, personality and lifestyle which affect their opinions when taking a decision on mission home attendance for delivery in Ijebu Division of Ogun State Ogun State.
