Information professionals play significant role as participants in the information society. However, it seems that accumulation of information for work delivery in organisation including the library has been bewildered by some factors like psychological adjustment and ethical issues especially in information management. The study therefore investigated psychological adjustment and ethical issues in information management as factors affecting work effectiveness of library personnel in Lagos State Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design with a study population of 297 library personnel in fourteen selected libraries in Lagos State. Hence, total enumeration sampling technique was adopted since the population was not too large and can easily be managed. The questionnaire, which had reliability (r=0.87) was the main research instrument used for data collection. Data collected was analysed in SPSS output format using frequency count, percentage distribution, mean and standard deviation. Findings revealed that most of the correspondent were playing a successful part in activities in their workplace (mean= 3.49). In addition, most of the library personnel were able to concentrate on whatever they do (mean= 3.14). Majority of the respondents uphold and protect library users rights to privacy and confidentiality with respect to information sought or received, acquired or transmitted (mean= 3.83). Majority of the respondents were outstanding and very good in effectiveness: successfully meets the needs of library users (mean= 3.27). However, the challenges of intellectual property rights (mean= 2.93) ranked the highest in the mean score rating. Therefore, psychological adjustment and effective information management greatly play significant roles in the work effectiveness among the library personnel sampled. Hence, library personnel in university libraries in particular, and other libraries in general should endeavour to develop their coping strategies and adjustment. This will help them to easily adapt to workplace changes and be psychologically upright at all times.
