This paper focused on the review of science education in building a safer world. Its essence to science education students, it challenges and the way forward. The rate of unemployment as well as under-employment in Nigeria is no longer news. This has led to the increase in wandering the streets aimlessly, increase in agitation and violent demonstrations and destruction of lives and properties, prostitution, and all sorts of delinquent and crime behaviours, such as armed robbery, kidnapping, ritual killings etc. In the real sense of it, a hungry man is an angry man, and definitely, the gross challenges associated with unemployment portend evil for the entire nation. The current educational trend is like grooming academic devils with bleak future to survive on their own; whereby the country is sitting on a keg of gunpowder that may explode one day and destroy the whole nation, because of mass unemployment. However, science education has been found to be the bedrock of existence and sustenance of many advanced nations of the world because it provides job for every individual, no matter the population. Therefore, this study exemplifies the various advantages, benefits and prospects of science education to humankind. It recommends that all and sundry should benefit from science education, at least to the end of secondary school level and general courses in all tertiary institutions, which would have provided the needed skills for survival and self-employment, thereby promoting and building a safer society and the world at large.
